This error reminds us how cruel the crypto world can be. Just a simple click error, the owner of NFT 44 from the Ether Rock collection has just lost everything.

A Fatal Currency Error!

The crypto world is sometimes ruthless and does not forgive the slightest mistake. Dino-dealer has just found out the hard way. If the stories of sending astronomical sums to the wrong wallet address are now legion, the mishap experienced by the trader is rare. Because it is not an error sending tokens to a wrong address but rather a currency error when listing your NFT.

An error quickly spotted by a bot who hastened to buy the token in question. This error, which may seem trivial, has enormous repercussions for the trader. So, while he wanted to list his NFT at a price of 444 ETH, or more than 1.1 million euros at the current price, he listed it for 444 WEI, or less than a euro cent.

Fact to know: Wei is to Ethereum what Satoshi is to Bitcoin. In terms of conversion, 1 ETH = 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 WEI.

Can There be Any Possible Appeal?

While sending crypto to the wrong wallet can sometimes have a happy ending, unfortunately there is nothing you can do about it.

The interested party also shared his misadventure on the social network Twitter, not without a touch of humor:

NFT: He loses 1 million euros because of a bad click!

How’s your week going? Mine? I just mistakenly registered @etherrock
#44 for 444 wei instead of 444 eth. The robot sniped it from the same block and tried to flip it for 234 ETH. With one click, my entire ~$1 million net worth, gone. Is there any hope?

Anyway, this story will have made someone happy: the buyer of the NFT who had configured the bot. By spending barely less than a euro cent, this trader is now at the head of a capital of more than 230 ETH. That is about 1,222,476.22 NGN.
